Restore Your Smile With Dr. Tarabin

If you’re missing one or more teeth, dental implants offer a natural-looking, permanent replacement option. Dr. Tarabin is a trained implant dentist who’s been providing this advanced treatment for over 14 years.

With dental implants, you’ll never have to worry about your teeth coming out or shifting around when you’re with friends. Instead, you’ll have a beautiful smile you can really feel good about.

Explore our guide and discover what dental implants can do for you.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant consists of three parts: a titanium post, an abutment, and a porcelain crown. The implant post is placed directly in your jaw, where it fuses with your bone to create a secure attachment, the same way a natural tooth does. This process is called osseointegration.

The abutment is the middle piece that connects the post to your attractive porcelain crown or multi-tooth restoration, which is the only part of the dental implant that your friends will see.

Dental implants offer several unique benefits that other tooth replacements can’t match:

  • Natural appearance
  • Unrivaled stability
  • Restores chewing function
  • Long-term protection for your oral health
  • Easy to maintain
  • Can last a lifetime with proper care

The Dental Implant Process

The dental implant process can be completed in just three easy steps:

  • Your Free Consultation – It all begins when you schedule a free consultation with Dr. Tarabin. During this meeting, he’ll thoroughly examine your smile and answer any questions you may have about the procedure.
  • Implant Placement – Dr. Tarabin will surgically place the implant post directly in your jawbone and then he’ll attach a temporary restoration to protect the surgical site. Following surgery, it will take about three to six months for the bones in your jaw to develop a secure attachment to the implant post.
  • Restoration – As soon as your body is fully acclimated to the implant post, you’ll return to our office where Dr. Tarabin will attach your stunning porcelain crown, bridge, or full-arch denture, completing the restoration process. At this point, you can enjoy all the benefits of your beautiful new smile.

Dental Implant Candidacy

If you’re looking to permanently restore your missing teeth, dental implants could be the right solution for you. In fact, recent advances make dental implants available to more patients than ever before.

Sometimes, patients require a little extra help to get ready for the implant process. In these cases, Dr. Tarabin will perform one or more supplemental treatments to get you on the road to a new smile. For example, we offer bone grafting treatment for patients who suffer from jawbone deterioration as well as a number of effective remedies for gum disease.

Before you know it, you’ll be on your way to a healthy and beautiful new smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the dental implant proess painful?

You can expect some swelling and discomfort following implant surgery. But these effects will only last a few days and they can typically be treated with over-the-counter medications. If you experience severe pain or excessive bleeding, contact our office right away.

Dr. Tarabin will administer a local anesthetic to numb the surgical area before placing your implant. You’ll also be provided with complete written instructions for your aftercare.

For your convenience, we offer multiple forms of sedation for patients who are anxious about receiving dental care.

Q: How do I take care of my implants after the procedure?

Dental implants are easy to care for with daily brushing and flossing, just like your natural teeth.

You’ll also want to visit Dr. Tarabin for regular checkups so we can keep your smile healthy and monitor the progress of your implants.

We recommend gentle cleaning products to avoid scratching your dental implants. That’s why you’ll want to select a soft-bristled toothbrush and nylon-coated floss to protect it. It’s also essential to avoid any type of toothpaste or mouthwash that contains abrasive whitening ingredients such as baking soda or stannous fluoride.

Q: Are there certain foods I should avoid?

You’ll want to stick to a diet of soft foods for a few days following your implant surgery to avoid disturbing the surgical site. Your aftercare instructions will provide details about the types of foods you should be eating at this time.

Dental implants deliver exceptional chewing power. As soon as Dr. Tarabin completes the implant process by placing your porcelain crown, you can go back to eating all your favorite foods without restrictions.

Q: Does insurance cover dental implants?

Insurance companies don’t typically offer full coverage for implant care, but they’ll often pay for a portion of your treatment. Our staff is trained to work with you to find your best payment and financing options.

Q: Why should I choose Dr. Tarabin for dental implants?

Dr. Tarabin has been placing dental implants for more than 14 years. He belongs to the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), one of the leading organizations for implant dentists, as well as the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (ACD).
